A PELICAN PERFORMS

I'm pretty sure this is a Brown Pelican but could be wrong. He/she was mooching off the tourists in Victoria's Inner Harbour the last time I went downtown, which was back in December. I dropped a sun shield while shooting pics of the critter and it rushed right over to me, assuming, I suppose, that what I had dropped was edible.

Piper and I survived the holiday season unscathed, mainly because we successfully ignored the whole frenetic mess. I'm always amazed at how folks get their panties all twisted because of an arbitrary date on the calender. Insanity, it is said, is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.

I became officially old on January 4th when I turned 65. Now I can legitimately call myself an eccentric old fart, which certainly reads better than crazy old man. :-) Still have a 30-inch waist and weigh exactly what I weighed at age 20. Must be doing something right.

    1. Hi Vic:
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Just came in from sitting outside drinking coffee and watching the lawn grow. :-) We're having a green winter here on the southern Island but there has been snow all around us. Weather patterns are kind to us here, mostly, but the day upon day of rain can sometimes get a bit trying. Looks like a sunny afternoon, might get in some gardening. Good to see you. Hugs and Woofs.

    1. Thanks, Monica, I saw your note on blogster, figured you'd see this. I have a problem with some people on that site so really don't bother anymore. Another plus for finally getting to be an eccentric old fart is I no longer have to pretend to like people I don't like or even deal with them. :-)

Hope all is well with you and yours. Piper, as usual, says:"Woof!" Hugs. Take care and be safe.

  4. Congratulations on being officially old enough to be out of the work force. I had no idea we had pelicans in Victoria, let alone tame ones. We did likewise around Christmas.

I know she thoroughly entertained this fan of hers throughout the years…so I thank you for sharing her in this way.RIP Sweet Piper! Thank you for your kind words on my Puck.

Happy 2014 Terrence….here's to a good year for all of us.
